Car Glossary

Car rental can be a bit confusing with many expressions are sparse. To help you out, together we have a glossary that will hopefully help with other car rental booking. Additional driver: addendum to the main engine, registered and listed on the lease. May add additional drivers, depending on the supplier. Additional Liability Insurance (ALI) provides additional protection for bodily injury or death, plus damage to property. Airport charges: a charge used by the airport authorities at the terminal and off-terminal locations. In most cases, these costs also cover additional costs as a way of fees, fuel options, child car seats, etc. are not included in the daily wage and are paid at the counter. Emergency Waiver (CDW): Includes rental car in case of accidental damage to vehicles other than by theft or attempted theft. Excess Reduction (ER): Optional payment offered by the rental company to reduce or waive the deductible if the claim against damage or theft.
